F.A.C.E. - Free  Artists Creative  Equestrians is co-managed by Devon Maitozo and Carolyn Bland. All practices are open to spectators. The sport of vaulting benifits young and old alike by promoting balance, rhythom, flexibility, and coordination. Our vaulters range from 5 to 25 years old and their abilities range from just stating out to national champions. Devon coaches all vaulters. Our vaulters learn safe techniques, body control, and self confidence. Skills developed on a vaulting barrel transfer easily to the club's vaulting horses.

In 2000 and 2001, with Devon's coaching and Carolyn's equestrian skills, our vaulters earned many regional and national championships. The club's A-team and three of the club's individuals won the U.S.A. Selection Trials and competed at the 2000 World Vaulting Championships. The 8 person A-Team were national champions in 2000 and 2001 and was the American Vaulting Association's A-Team of the Year both years. In mid 2002 the F.A.C.E. A-Team won the U.S.A. Selection Trials and earned the right to represent the U.S.A. at the World Vaulting Championships in Jerez, Spain from September 10-14, 2002 at the World Equestrian Games, WEG 2002. Competing as an individual Devon won the 2002 Selection Trails and F.A.C.E. vaulter Blake Dahlgren's scores placed him in 4th place as the alternate at WEG by .004 points.

At the end of the 2000 competitive season the club moved from the Barronsgate Equestrian Center and changed its name from Barronsgate to Free Artists Creative Equestrians. This year's F.A.C.E. A-Team and individuals are developing new routines and training for the future.

DEVON & CAROLYN - Devon Maitozo has 18 years of vaulting and coaching experience. His inovative choreography is rooted in his acting and dance training. Devon is the 2nd male vaulter to earn three consesecutive medals at the Wolrd Vaulting Championships, held every 2 years. He was the 1998 World Champion and the Bronze medalist at the 2000 World Vaulting Championships. Devon is the 2000 National Men's Gold Medal Champion, a title he has held for the fifth time. Carolyn Bland is the club's lounger. Carolyn's expertise as a dressage trainer, with 35 years of riding experience and knowledge of equine welfare, affords the club the best possible advantage by combining the harmony of the horse and vaulter.

HORSES - Vaulting horses maintain a consistant gate as they carry 1 to 3 vaulters at a time. Our trained horses walk or canter in a circle at the end of a long lead as vaulters perform gymnastic mounts, routines and dismounts. One or more of our horses can be used during class by all vaulters.

COMPETITIONS - Vaulting clubs hold competitions year round. Beginers have the opportunity to compete on a vaulting barrel or a walking horse locally. All trot and canter individuals and teams may compete regionally or nationally. Top individuals and A-teams may compete internationally.

CLASSES - Group and individual classes are held after school and on weekends. Scheduled classes are held  year round under a covered arena at Southland Farms. Classes cost from $25 for a 2-hour group class. Team Classes develop team free style routines. Group Classes focus on six required exercises and free style routines. Semi-private Classes for 2-4 vaulters focus on personalized routines. Private Classes can be scheduled for individuals or groups.
